OTR is a project by Joe – commercial artist and designer – delivering high quality affordable fonts to the adoring masses (you guys) in exchange for fat stacks of cash.

Although we* might sort of be in it for the money, we're also in it for the love of the game. The game being cool fonts.

Drawing from heritage typography, but built for the modern day, Off The Rack's fonts are drawn by hand before careful digital development. Imagine you brought a 20th-century signwriter into the 21st century and handed them an ipad.

Frequently asked questions

Do you do discounts?

Occasionally, I'll offer discounts via my newsletter that put me in grave financial jeopardy. This is because I am desperate but it works out well for you because you get some sick fonts for cheap.
Can I get a trial font?

While OTR doesn't do trial fonts, you are free to screenshot the font tester to present possible logo options to your client. We just ask you come back and buy the font if you end up using it please <3
What files will I receive?

As of 2025, we ship all fonts in OTF, WOFF, and WOFF2 formats.

The only exception to this is our 'unreleased singles', included in The Kitchen Sink, which are mostly OTF files.
Thoughts on AI?

At OTR, we like to do things the old fashioned way. Our fonts are perfectly imperfect - my mum told me so.

We do not use AI in the design/production process of our fonts.
Who designs Off The Rack's products?

Most of Off The Rack's products are designed by me, Joe. A few of them are designed in collaboration with other talented font designers, including Taylor Penton and Sample Co.
What's a Joe?

Joe is a British artist based in Busan, South Korea. He consists primarily of coffee, haribos and good intentions.
Who's Taylor Penton?

The real question is 'why is Taylor Penton?'
